Milled & Found is a material-led studio operating from Lancaster, UK. We design and make precision-milled solid timber objects built for tactile focus and dynamic desk display — backed by documented provenance and studio labour.

The Specialty Standard
Stewardship is our primary relationship with timber. Rather than processing anonymous wood commodities, we apply a single-origin harvest model to every release. By refining traceable lots into precise, modular forms, we provide native timber with a functional purpose for active handling and spatial focus.
Every component is traceably linked to regional sawmills and local tree surgeons across Britain. We work with timber that has been air-dried and/or kiln-seasoned over several years to ensure dimensional stability before milling.
Treating timber like a single-origin harvest allows us to document studio labour, wood characteristics, and exact geographic origin for every lot we release.
Material Realism
We operate under a strict commitment to material realism. Every individual module is finished with raw wax to preserve open-grain texture, optical depth, and natural grain variance.
This deliberate workshop finish preserves the surface friction of seasoned hardwood, enabling stable, tool-free assembly purely through weight, grip, and gravity.
